WOWWWW!!!!! I CANNOT believe I have not posted in more than a year. Wait! Yes I can!!! SOOOOO much has happened in our wonderful life. I will start with the biggest and most important blessing.....Moriyah (Mo) Carson was born December 28, 2011. She is the light of our life and I cherish every moment with her.

She is already 6 months old (pics to come soon). Growing soooo fast!

Recently, like this week, I have finally made the decision to "quit" graduate school. It is too much. Way too much. I chose to make this decision because I want to stay at home with Mo and have more babies. My heart was so heavy each day I left her and after much prayer and discussion I made the decision. The best decision for my family.

To celebrate my recent decision I had a "martha moment". I cooked a Pinterest recipe. Chicken gyros and homemade pita bread. It was pretty delicious. Recipe

I am looking forward to more cooking and taking care of things around the house and my sweet little family. I am also planning to get back to blogging because it is so much fun!

Thanks for reading!!

I am such a SLACKER......

WOW. It has been WAYYYYY too long since I have posted anything. A lot has happened in the last month or more so I will try to keep it short and sweet!!!
BIG NEWS.....MATT AND I BOTH GRADUATED FROM ULM!!!!!!
The first pic is Matt and I with my mom and dad!!! And the next is us with Matt's Aunt Debbie, Emily & Brandon (sister and BIL), Mom, Dad, and Mamaw!! We are so blessed to have such strong support systems through our journeys! Matt also made the news because it took him "nearly a decade" to earn his degree ;-). Only because he was fighting in the war and helping clean up after Katrina. Check it out  http://www.knoe.com/story/14692262/ulm-graduation-makes-history-a-story-behind-the-numbers

I am so proud of my sweet husband! I am very thankful for his determination to finish school despite all his setbacks. What a great example he has set for our children. I AM SO BLESSED!! I love you Matt!!!

 More BIG news.......BETSY GOT MARRIED!!

For some reason I do not have any pictures with Betsy so because I love her so much I am going to share this one with yall!! I know she will love it! haha! Congrats to her and Andy. I am honored to have been a part of their special day and pray many many years of happiness for them!

A Grandmother's Hands

Matt and I had a great weekend with family and friends. Now it's back to the real life of laundry and cleaning. This weekend (starting Friday) has been a blessing for both of us because we got to see everyone in our close family (with the exception of a few siblings). That doesn't happen very often but we are so thankful for each of them and were so happy to see them!

So, as I said in my previous post I, along with 9 other family members, stayed Friday night with my Mema in Delhi. We had a BLAST!!!!!! We stayed up too late, slept on blow up mattress throughout her living room, and woke up early to prepare breakfast and lunch for everyone!

One of my fondest childhood memories is of my Mema cooking homemade biscuits and me eating a lot of them with a lot of syrup. I was so obsessed with these little guys that my Papaw Gerald used to call me "syrup sopper". It was my nick name my whole life out in Delhi!!! Fun stuff!
So Saturday morning I got the opportunity to take some pictures of my Mema making her biscuits. What a BLESSING! I will never ever forget my memories as a child with her but now I have pictures to remind me forever, I was ecstatic. I won't put up a pic of her because I know she would not love that but just know the women behind these hands is full of love and compassion. I hope and pray that I am half the woman she is!!!

I had to pleasure to live with her for a year back in 2006 and she taught me how to make her biscuits. My hands don't roll them as well as hers but  I am getting better!!!!

This is a pic of the finished product. The best biscuits I have ever eaten in my life :-)

That is it for today. I just wanted to share a little about my Mema and her biscuits!!!! Thanks for reading!

Our First Harvest!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!
Matt and I were able to pick our first batch of fresh veges out of our own garden today!!!!
Check out our bountiful gatherings of the Arugula and Chard planted in our front yard! That's right our FRONT yard where everyone can see :-). It's what us urban farmers have to do!!!!!
We ended up getting more than enough.........
I wish I would have gotten a pick before I picked but I just have ones after.

So that was a very exciting thing for us today (crazy I know). I didn't realize how much fun gardening would be when I got started. I love spending time in the yard and checking on my plants! So much fun!!

Well it's off to bed for me! Half day at work tomorrow, afternoon with my sweet hubs, and staying the night with my Mema! Looking forward to a wonderful day!

Blessings to you all and thanks for reading about my plants!! :-)

Eek....Here goes nothing....

HI! My name is Malissa and I have been wanting to blog for a long time. I am not very witty, or interesting at all, but I think this will be fun! So just a little quick run-down about me, my life, my family, my pups, my hobbies...OK probably not all of that but the basics none the less!

I'm Malissa. My husband is Matt. We are somewhere between the ages of 20 and 30 :-). We are both about to graduate from college. We got married July 12, 2008. We live in a pink house (hopefully that will change soon). We have taken on the challenge of gardening (eek). We believe in the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob and live our life to glorify the Father (as best we can because we are not perfect). We have two precious pups (mine is more precious than his!!). And well......that's all I got. So now I will just add some pics of life until now!

Ok, so that is just a few pics of us over the past 3 years!!! Love that guy!! Well that is it for now, I have to go to bed!! Yes, I am young and I go to bed before 9 most nights..don't judge me!!! :-)
